Visitor Rules & Safety
Important information to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone.
The Cliffs of Moher are a beautiful but wild and natural environment. To protect the landscape and ensure the safety of all our visitors, we ask that you follow a few key rules. Your cooperation helps preserve this iconic landmark for future generations. See our accessibility page for information on site access.
Key Guidelines
Please respect these rules during your visit.
Stay on the Official Paths
For your safety, please stay within the walled pathways at all times. The cliff edge is unstable and can be dangerous, especially in windy conditions. Do not climb over the barriers.
Dogs Policy
Dogs are welcome on the grounds but must be kept on a short leash at all times. They are not permitted inside the Visitor Centre building or O'Brien's Tower (assistance dogs excepted).
No Drones
The use of drones is strictly prohibited to ensure the safety of visitors and to protect the sensitive wildlife and nesting birds. The area is a Special Protection Area for Birds.
Leave No Trace
Please help us keep the cliffs beautiful by taking all your litter with you or using the bins provided. Do not disturb the wildlife or pick any wildflowers.
